Complete Airbox Redesign for the BMW E92 M3 S65 V8

The Infinity Design Carbon Fibre Intake System for the BMW E92 M3 represents a ground-up redesign of the entire airbox - not simply an improvement of the OEM system, but a complete rethink of how air should be delivered to the S65 V8.

The Problem with Conventional Intakes

The factory intake elbow reduces considerably in size from the plenum opening to the airbox. Most aftermarket intakes simply increase or smooth this inlet elbow - an approach that delivers little to no power gain, as the effect on airflow remains minimal when air still has to pass through the restrictive OEM airbox.

Infinity Design's Solution

Rather than following convention, Infinity Design engineered an inlet tube that maintains and enlarges the cross-sectional area of the plenum opening consistently throughout. To achieve this, the entire airbox was redesigned from scratch to accommodate the significantly larger inlet tube.

The result is an inlet tube dramatically larger in both volume and cross-sectional area, slowly increasing in size as it flows towards the large surface area air filter. The plenum can now breathe to its maximum capacity with no restriction - exactly as it was designed to do.
